Originally an Ethan Allen Furniture store, the Village of Olympia Fields purchased the building to convert it into their new police facility and village hall. The 18,000 SF building contains seven cells — two adult holding cells, four full adult cells, and a juvenile cell. It also contains squad, evidence, interrogation, investigation, interview and line-up rooms. There is a fitness area, locker rooms, five administrative offices and a conference room. In the Village Hall portion of the building there are six offices. The administration and police department share a multipurpose room, but have their own lunchrooms, conference rooms, and washrooms.
JMA was hired to complete both the design of the facility as well as provide construction management services. This project was finished on time and within budget. JMA was one of eight architects to submit a bid. We were chosen for our experience in retrofit for municipalities.
