This new 135,000 square foot elementary school includes 30 classrooms, two reading rooms, four special education rooms, a band room, music room, art room, music/art room, language room, health room, two computer labs, two science labs, a library, auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium with locker rooms, showers, laundry room and workout room, three teacher work rooms, ample storage and networking/IT space, and a large office area focused on the needs of the administration.
Built simultaneously, the Barack Obama Learning Academy mirrors the district’s other new school, the Jesse White Learning Academy. JMA was able to save the District both time and money by tweaking the design and placing a similar building on a nearly-equivalent sized property.
