HISTORIC FORD HANGAR
Located at the Lansing Illinois Municipal Airport, this hangar was built as part of Henry Ford’s airport plan. In 1985, the Ford Hangar was entered into the National Register of Historic Places.
JMA Architects was involved in the initial phase of “stabilization” of the building. This includes correction of deteriorated conditions, such as roofing and tuck pointing, to prevent further deterioration of the building from occurring. The Village of Lansing’s ultimate goal is to restore this landmark building to its “original glory.” The intent is for the hangar to be used for community functions and for aircraft displays.
In addition to providing architectural services, JMA will also serve as the Construction Manager for the stabilization work.
